If you are an experienced off-road motorist and vehicle camper, you are, without doubt, the best person to decide exactly what you need to do and take for your trip. Even so, extensive experience doesn't guarantee perfect recall and everyone might find it useful to jog their memories by consulting other people's lists.
The lists that follow on the next page do assume some experience - without some mechanical expertise, for example, an immaculately stocked tool-box is of limited use. It is also assumed that the motorist in question will spend at least some time driving off-road, most probably in a four-wheel-drive vehicle.
