Medical and Additional Expenses:
Hazardous activities including motor cycling, mountaineering, potholing, riding or driving in any kind of race, wilful exposure to risk (other than in an attempt to save human life), manual or hazardous work, suicide or attempted suicide, mental illness, depression or anxiety, the effect of alcohol or drugs, or any form of aerial activity other than travelling as a passenger in a fully licensed passenger carrying aircraft.
Pregnancy or childbirth where birth is expected within eight weeks of completing travel, or where gynaecological problems have been suffered. |

Criminal Injuries:
Business or commercial activities, or any form of criminal or illegal activities.
Cancellation or Curtailment:
Pregnancy known about at the time of booking or where gynaecological problems have been suffered.

Personal Liability:
The use of any mechanically propelled vehicle, water craft or aircraft, any business activities, the supply of goods or services, or the use or occupation of any building or land.
Claims made against the Insured Person by members of his/her family, or any travelling companion.
Luggage and Personal Effects:
Fragile articles, cycles, surf boards and the like, and contact, corneal lenses and mobile telephones. Loss or damage to spectacles or sunglasses is limited to £100.
Wear and tear, or electrical or mechanical derangement or malfunction, or valuable items or money not adequately secured, or if in "checked in" luggage or unattended motor vehicles.
Losses not reported to local police within 24 hours of discovery and a written report obtained where possible, or where a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) is not obtained from a carrier.
Failure of Public Transport Services in the UK
or Delayed Departure:
Industrial action which had commenced or was publicly declared prior to the insurance being purchased.
Legal Expenses:
Claims against travel agents, tour operators, carriers, travelling companions, or the underwriters or their agents.
Failure of European Flight Connections:
Flights in Europe with scheduled connections that are less than the times published in the Official Airline Guide (varies according to airport and flight from 1-3 hours).
Wintersports Cover:
Equipment not carried on the same aircraft or vehicle as you. Piste closure claims for the first day of closure. Ski racing, ski jumping, ice hockey or the use of bob sleighs or skeletons.
Excesses:
An excess of £50 applies to most claims (£250 in the case of legal expense claims).
Material Facts:
Any information relevant to your insurance must be disclosed including any medical condition from which you are suffering or have suffered within the last 12 months (for which your GP may need to issue a certificate indicating your fitness to travel) any hazardous or business activities you may participate in, and any property owned abroad (which therefore may not be covered), any countries you intend visiting known to be areas of unrest.

If you have been given a final response and you are still dissatisfied you may refer your case to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
The FOS is an independent body that arbitrates on complaints about ge n e ral insurance products.

Referral to the FOS will not affect your right to take legal action. Financial Services Compensation Scheme(FSCS) AXA Insurance is covered by the FSCS, which is triggered when an authorised firm goes out of business.
In this unlikely event you may be entitled to compensation from the scheme. Compensation under the scheme for: Compulsory insurance is co vered in full/ Non-compulsory insurance is protected in full for the first £2,000 and 90% of any amount above the threshold.
