WEXAS Traveller Insurance Cover
Medical and Additional Expenses up to £10,000,000
If you suffer illness, or an accident involving injury, the Underwriters will, on medical advice, pay for medical or hospital expenses incurred outside your country of residence, plus ambulance and emergency repatriation costs and additional accommodation or travel expenses to include a relative or friend who has to travel or remain with you on medical advice.
Cover includes air ambulance if necessary, or funeral expenses/costs of repatriating remains.

Medical Emergencies
For peace of mind a full 24-hour Medical Emergency Service is provided by Voyagers Assistance, including Medical Assistance, Air Ambulance and Repatriation, Medical Escorts, Road Ambulance and Return Home, and Long Haul Repatriation

Additional Hospital Benefit up to £200
If you are admitted to hospital abroad as an in-patient, an additional £10 per day is available for each full 24-hours that you are in hospital.

Criminal Injuries up to £5,000
If you are the victim of an assault and receive criminal injuries the hospital benefit mentioned above is increased to £100 per day, paid as compensation, provided there is medical and police evidence.

Personal Liability up to £2,000,000
If you are found legally liable for accidental bodily injury to another person or accidental damage to their property, there is up to £2,000,000 including legal expenses to indemnify you against any award made by a court. NOTE: This does not include liability for motor vehicles, motor cycles, watercraft or aircraft, where insurance should already be in force, arranged by the hire company or owners in accordance with local legislation.

Personal Accident up to £50,000
If you suffer accidental bodily injury or death while travelling a benefit of £50,000 is available for loss of an eye, a limb or permanent disablement (£10,000 in the event of death). Limited to £1,000 for persons aged 66 or over or 16 or under.

Cancellation and Curtailment up to £5,000
If you have to cancel your journey due to serious illness or injury, death, quarantine, jury service, witness call, redundancy or major damage at your home or business, the Underwriters will repay whatever amount is not refundable by the Travel Agent or Tour Operator with whom you booked. Cover extends to include cancellation caused for the above reasons to your travelling companion if they have purchased insurance, or a close relative in the UK, or a dependent business partner.
If your journey is curtailed while you are overseas for similar reasons, a proportionate refund will be made of inclusive tour costs.
If you are travelling independently and cannot use your air tickets to return to the UK, the Underwriters will reimburse additional travelling expenses, and consider a claim for the value of unused sections of the journey. The Claims Specialists can normally assist in having "non-transferable" tickets amended or upgraded where an emergency return to the UK is needed.

Luggage and Personal Effects up to £2,000
For loss, damage or theft of your luggage, clothing or personal effects while travelling, on an indemnity basis and not "new for old".
N.B. there is a limit of £250 for any one article, pair or set and £350 in total for all valuable items, including jewellery and photographic equipment.

Temporary loss of luggage up to £100
If your luggage fails to arrive with you, delayed by 24 hours or more, £100 is recoverable for immediate necessities, even if your luggage later turns up.

Money up to £400 and tickets up to £1,500
Following loss or theft of money - including cash or traveller's cheques held for private purposes and travel tickets (up to £250 for cash) and in addition reasonable expenses incurred as a result of the loss (increased to a total of £1,500 to include air tickets).
Losses must by reported to the issuing agent in the UK and are limited pro-rata to the original purchase price.

Loss of Passport
Expenses incurred are included in the money section, up to £250.

Failure of Public Transport Services in the UK
up to £300
For additional travel and accommodation costs if failure of scheduled public transport services (because of strike, mechanical breakdown or adverse weather) causes you to miss your outward flight.

Hijack of Aircraft up to £3,000
Compensation of £100 for each complete day that you are in the control of the hijackers. If you are injured and subsequently hospitalised, further payment may be due under the Criminal Injuries or the Personal Accident section.

Failure of Flight Connections up to £120
If you miss a flight connection in Europe for circumstances beyond your control which affect your flight from the UK to Europe, compensation up to £20 per day is available.

Legal Expenses up to £15,000
If you suffer personal injury or death during travel the Underwriters will appoint an agent and if necessary pay legal costs and expenses to pursue a claim for compensation and / or damages against the guilty party. There is a 24-hour legal assistance line available from the UK.

Delayed Departure or Arrival and Abandonment of Journey up to £1,000
For delayed departure or arrival of an aircraft, vessel or Channel Tunnel train there is compensation of £25 for the first 12 hour delay and £12.50 for each subsequent 12 hours. Maximum amount claimable £100. Includes cancellation up to £1,000 if the whole itinerary is abandoned after a 12 hour delay.

Government Travel Restrictions up to £750
Following an official warning by the British Government against travel to your destination (provided such warning is first issued within 7 days of departure), if war, invasion, riot or any similar circumstances affect your travel plans, up to £750 cover applies for cancellation, or up to £300 for additional expenses to make alternative arrangements or to travel to your destination by other means.

Wintersports Cover including Skiing and Snowboarding

The Holiday and Global Traveller annual insurance policies cover:
  • Ski Equipment up to £500. Loss or breakage of ski equipment owned by you or hired by you or in your charge. There is a limit of £200 for any single item, set or pair, and an overall limit of £100 for hired equipment.
  • Ski Hire up to £200. Following loss or breakage of skis or delay in transit of your skis, provided you are deprived of their use for at least 12 hours.
  • Ski Pack up to £300. Reimbursement of the proportionate value of any ski pass, hire or tuition fee necessarily unused due to accident, sickness, loss or theft of ski pass.
  • Piste Closure up to £200. If lack of snowfall in the prebooked holiday resort makes it impossible to ski for a period exceeding 12 hours, the Underwriters will pay the cost of up to £20 a day for travelling expenses to an alternative resort.
  • Avalanche Closure up to £150. Reimbursement of additional travel and accommodation expenses necessarily incurred in the event that the outward or return journey by Public Transport is delayed beyond the scheduled arrival time as a direct result of avalanche.
